Iranian Oscar winning film ‘The Salesman’ directed by Asghar Farhadi has been chosen as one of the best movies of the year 2017 by Metacritic website.

‘The Salesman’ made its way to the top of the list along with some of the best movies released in the US during the first half of 2017.

Farhadi's film won the award for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 69th edition of the Academy Awards and two awards at the 70th edition of Cannes in France.

This was the second time that Farhadi won an Oscar. In 2012, he became the first Iranian to win the prestigious award for his film ‘A Separation’, which also won the Best Foreign Language award.

‘The Salesman’ tells the story of a young couple named Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti) who move into a new flat in the center of Tehran. But an incident linked to the previous tenant dramatically changes their life.
